Founder Story
RC Fornax was founded in 2020 by Royal Air Force veterans Paul Reeves and Daniel Clark, driven by a shared belief that the defence industry deserved faster and more efficient engineering outcomes.
After a combined 24 years of military service, Paul and Daniel transitioned into consultancy roles, supporting Tier-1 defence contractors on some of the UK’s most complex engineering programmes. During this time, they encountered systemic challenges across the sector that were repeatedly highlighted by the Ministry of Defence, including how large consultancies often lacked the specialist focus required for modern defence programmes.
RC Fornax was established to challenge these traditional consultancy models, delivering outcome-based projects under defined Statements of Work, using tailored project teams from a trusted associate community. This approach places full accountability for delivery with RC Fornax, positioning the company as a trusted partner rather than a transactional supplier.
Since its inception, the company has grown rapidly, securing preferred supplier status with 10 well-recognised blue-chip organisations. This aligns closely with the Ministry of Defence’s SME Action Plan which aims to allocate over 25% of annual spend to SMEs. The company’s trajectory reflects its commercial strength, with a revenue CAGR of 100% since launch, reaching £6.5 million in 2024 and £1.0 million EBITDA.
At its core, RC Fornax exists because two veterans believed the defence engineering sector could operate in a better, more streamlined way. Their lived experience shapes each project the company delivers today, ensuring the company stands ready to support the Ministry of Defence with the high-quality engineering consultancy that modern defence programmes demand.
